3/27/2024 - The future of BaratusLive and my YouTube channel

My Discord's Rulebook!

Ever since I unexpectedly got myself in violation of YouTube's community guidelines, this has been on my mind. For those who are unaware, and because I am unable to post on my channel's community page, it is difficult to spread the information. This strike was started by an uncut highlight video from a livestream that I did on January 7, 2022 (during my Dakki VTuber phase), when my buddies and I talked about DOSBox at the start of the video. It appears that it was taken down because it broke the "hate speech" guideline.

This is the second strike I've received; the first came about because of an idiotic YouTube Poop video I made ages ago that was found to contain "hateful content" and happened on August 22, 2021. In order to avoid strike 2 and increase the likelihood that my channel would be shut down, I had to go through my older material and remove some of it. Fortunately, the first strike had already expired.

In a state of panic, and to prevent another strike from taking place. I had to private all of my BaratusLive streams and erase the majority (if not all) of my unedited highlight streams from 2021 to shortly after my debut as Akage Megane on April 8, 2022. After that, I'm left wondering how I'm going to deal with this issue in the future, because after nearly ten years, I'm finally building a fan base, and I don't want to lose it all because of something stupid.

To rectify this, I plan to take the community guidelines a bit more seriously in future videos. The good news about this adjustment is that I won't be censoring any profanity, but I do have a filter, so don't expect me to go full out anytime soon because it will trigger the age restriction. However, I'm good on the video side, so everything is safe for the time being. However, the fundamental issue we must address is BaratusLive.

As much as I dislike having to do this. I will be shutting down BaratusLive after nearly a year of operation. This could also mean that I'll be taking a break from livestreaming following this. It is unknown whether I will return to livestreaming, and if so, I intend to return to Twitch.tv in the future.

A variety of factors contributed to the anxiety and lack of motivation. From the stress of having to improvise when something goes wrong to the fear that someone in voice chat may say something that would result in either an age restriction or, at worse, a community guidelines violation. It just isn't fun anymore; I want to be able to play my games whenever I want without having to stick to a strict schedule. I want to work at my own pace and schedule, thus I'm grateful that YouTube allows for video scheduling.

As devastating as it is to stop down and discontinue my livestream series. I want to make up to everyone who watched my livestreams, and I sincerely appreciate your support during these trying times. I had planned to create a video after upgrading to a new PC. However, plans have altered, and I will explain all in this article.

When my new PC is finished and I am ready to post again, I will do a channel update video explaining everything I said in this article and potentially include additional things I haven't said as time passes. As a farewell to the series, I aim to release a large and lengthy video titled "The Best of BaratusLive" in which I will feature clips from May 2023 to March 2024. And then I'll go back to my initial plan, which was to make a video detailing a puzzle game that many people would remember.

The game we'll talk about is Bejeweled. A match-three game that helped create PopCap. I hope you all understand my decision; I simply need to focus more on content creation. If I do return to streaming, it will be on a different platform with a different series. Anyway, for the last time (for now).

3/16/2024 - I never completed an RTS game.

I have finished a number of first-person shooter games, but I have never finished an RTS game. For those who don't know, I've always enjoyed real-time strategy games, especially in the past when I couldn't play first-person shooter games because of mistreatment at school. I was limited to playing RTSs, but as time went on and I was able to play FPS games once again, my interest in RTSs gradually dwindled. However, when I entered my 20s, my curiosity began to slowly return.

Nonetheless, there have been occasions when I've tried to finish at least one RTS game, the 1994 release "Warcraft Orcs & Humans" by Blizzard Entertainment. I managed to complete several missions in 2022 before quitting because of burnout. I reached to Human Mission 10 in 2023 and went farther than I had in the past, but I gave up because Discord was messing with my recordings and a big power outage was killing my will to create more videos for awhile.

Even still, it's possible that I still feel the desire to end my streak of never finishing an RTS game. Nonetheless, if I were to begin a playthrough, I'm considering picking up Command & Conquer or Warcraft. Most likely Command & Conquer, as I believe the game has aged much better than Warcraft.

Anyway, that concludes this small article, stay tuned for more. ^-^

2/22/2024 - House of THEBaratusII Discord Community GOES PUBLIC!

My Discord's Rulebook!

On the last article from November 2023, I've stated my future of BaratusLive.

Interestingly, I expected to stream less, but this was not the case. Since January 1, 2024, I've came back to YouTube more strong and motivated. I also managed to reach past 700 subscribers.

However, the beginning of February was not necessarily the best for me in terms of Discord. Let's just say I had a buildup that lead me to lashing out moments before an event at my server and sometime later decided to take two days off of Discord (was going to be 4 or 5 days but I felt like I overshot my estimate). After those two days, I began my plan of cleaning up my Discord by leaving other communities because I feel more comfortable on my own servers with a few people. Many others I wasn't active in the first place or were just plagued by meaningless turmoil.

While I'm almost done cleaning, I reflected on how I've established a small but loyal fanbase. I am finally opening the doors to the House of THEBaratusII Discord server, which was initially private but later became semi-public for DOSBox Deathmatch Club members.

Remember that when a user joins the server, they are greeted with a set of rules and a verification channel to combat suspicious behavior. To be authenticated, you must respond to several questions posed by myself or someone from the moderation team. Another consideration is that, while we want to keep things respectful in the community, we also seek to maintain a calm environment. Failure to do so will result in either a kick or a timeout.

At the same time, we like having fun during voice talks and other activities. So feel free to hang around if you like.
